If you haven't seen Harold and Maude, 1971, it's worth a watch. Below is a made-up poster.

One of best all time classics. I used to run a couple of classic movie theaters on Nantucket in the 1973-1978. Was one of my favorites. Music by Cat Stevens.
Bud Cort and Ruth Gordon were stellar.
Other favs were A Man and a Woman, Citizen Kane, Mash, Casablanca, Moby Dick (saw 83 times) Camelot and a few more.
Thanks for evoking great memories.

A great May/December rom-com with unexpected twists all along the way.

Two thumbs up for Harold and Maude! Don't forget King of Hearts. One small theater in the Boston area ran it for two years as I recall. Every time they announced that they were ending the run everyone would come to see it again and bring their friends.

King of Hearts with Alan Bates and Genevieve Bujold was up on my top three movies with Harold & Maude!!! I watched it again about 2 weeks ago.

Yes, lots of great oldies. And what do we get on Netflix and Prime? Zombies and apocalypse.

Another post today coincidentally discusses the Jaguar hearse used in the Queens funeral. Remember Harold converting the Jaguar XK-E his mother gave him into a hearse? THAT was funny. I found this article.

Nice vehicle. I'm glad to see that someone resurrected the E-Type hearse.

The music by Cat Stevens really enhanced the movie. It's worth watching just for that.

The theater was in Central Square in Cambridge, MA. I saw it there during that run.

I watch it every couple of years. I bought the Blu Ray disc last year. I still like to own my favorite movies on disc.

The only thing is that the recreation did not start life as a 1965 XKE...unless he replaced the headlights. A 1965 would have been a Series 1 E-type and would have had glass covered headlights like my '67.

Great movie. I saw it a few times back in the day when we had 2 or 3 repertory theaters here in Manhattan, NYC.
Two of the theatres still exist, one is now the Joyce where dance groups perform and another on Broadway on the upper west side which is now an event space (I believe).

Be well! Ed
