#2 I could feel the breeze from the flapping wings.

#1 You did well with a difficult shot. Some update must have "purified my computer" my EXIF has disappearance. What speed did you use?

For #1 I would suggest significant cropping and horizontal flipping so the bird is flying toward the future [western culture reading left to right].

Both of these are really good captures. Both could be improved with some judicious cropping to a horizontal format such as 16:9 aspect ratio (16 units wide by 9 units high, whatever the unit of measurement).

As my high school journalism teacher always said, "Nearly every image can be cropped to save space on a page and make the subject more dynamic." That nagging reminder has stuck in my brain since 1968.

Thanks. I wanted to experiment in that regard. I will try those aspect ratios
