Lens is in excellent condition. No scratch, clean glass with some minor dust. Smooth focus and clicky aperture. Works great on DSLR, even better on mirrorless.

Comes with Nikon L37 filter and a vivitar hard case.

Price includes shipping.

will be listing a few other ai lens soon.

Edit: You will need an adapter to use on Z mount cameras. However, you do not have to use the Nikon FTZ adapter, a $40 “dumb” adapter works the same.

Uploaded pictures of Mr. Giddy with the lens wide open @ f/2.5 and @ f/8. Love the pictures from the lens, but kids just won't stand still, or perhaps I just lack the skill to get it in focus quick enough. :)

Reduced to 180

What is your PayPal number? Does it require the FTZ to work with Z cameras?

Available again. Sale fell through.

I wanted clarify that this is an F mount lens. You will need an adapter to use on Z mount cameras. However, you do not have to use the Nikon FTZ adapter, a $40 “dumb” adapter works the same.

A wonderful Nikkor lens... Mechanically and optically superb...
I have (and shoot) the "budget" Nikon 100mm f/2.8 Series E lens which is optically superb also albeit mechanically it is inferior... Both the 105mm f/2.5 and the 100mm f/2.8 are limited by a minimum focus distance of 1 meter however I use the PK-12 extension ring on my 100mm f/2.8 E Series with stellar results.

Of merit is the 105mm built in telescoping hood. *the 100mm f/2.8 E Series lacks this.
Although the Series E is only half the weight (215g) of the AI-S lens (435g) which is the reason I love it. :)

Note: The "E" Series Nikon lenses do not withstand the abuse of profession use like the AI and AI-S lenses.
It is extremely rare to find a Series "E" in mint condition.

While this AI-S 105mm f/2.5 is certainly optically & mechanically a match for any of Nikon's 80-200mm f/2.8 zoom optics the lack of AF limits its usefulness in portraiture (From experience).

However this lens offers "Rangefinder" focus conformation on FX and DX bodies in both normal and LiveView mode thus you are assured of images free of front/back focus issues.

For the price being asked you would be very hard pressed to find "Professional" level Manual Focus lens in this focal range. Once I purchased my Mint 100mm f/2.8 Series E I stopped looking.

This 105 f/2.5 AI-S brings considerable optical quality, worth & value to the table.
Hard to believe it still hasn't sold.

Vince you might consider adding an image or two which you have taken with this lens.
Hope this helps

Had the Series E 100mm and loved it too. The 105mm 2.5 looks petite to modern lenses, but it is a giant if you put it next to the Series E. The series E feels like a toy in hand once you have handled the 105. Both give excellent images.

Uploaded two pictures of Mr. Giddy in OP. First pic is wide open at f2.5. Second pic is at f8 and I added a light cuz in the first pic the front looks a little dim to me. This might not be the thread for it but critiques are welcome, but please don't be too harsh I am no pro.
