Which is one of the reasons I cover the brand and model on my gear with black PVC tape.

We all make typos. Not a problem. I wanted to share their link in case others were not familiar with this brand.

Cheers and best to you all.

"I've never understood the desire to put third-party glass on a top-of-the-line camera."

Bob you know already I agree with you. I prefer the lenses made by the camera manufacturer but I am sure you have nothing against using a Zeiss lens on a Nikon body. Remember when Nikon rangefinders could be fit with Leica lenses?
Many buying third party lenses do it because it is more economical than buying OEM. In a majority of cases those lenses offer very good quality for the price paid. There are cases of incompatibility and it depends on the manufacturer of the third party lens if that can be resolved or not.

A lens manufactured by the camera maker has been specifically made for the camera and performs to perfection even for cameras made in the future.

I too am a Nikon user but have bought a couple of third party lenses since Nikon did not have anything comparable. And now they don't work on my Z9. I knew that was a risk going in but still would have made the decision to buy them and, if I need to, can use them on my Nikon DSLR which I still have (and use as a backup camera anyway). Considering how few Nikon (and Canon) lenses have been made for their mirrorless cameras, it works out if third party lenses are available for these other products.

I'm curious as to which 3rd party lenses you own that don't work on your Z9. Is that because they are DX lenses, are F mount lenses and therefore require the FTZ adapter, or something else? The reason I'm asking is that I have a Z9, and have no problem with my FF 3rd party lenses mounted on the FTZ adapter.

I have been shooting Canon cameras since the AE1. I am not a professional and have been brand loyal. This past week Canon told Vitrox to quit making RF lenses and Tamron has made the decision to not make any RF lenses and I suspect that Sigma will follow suit. In my opinion, this is Canon creating a monopoly. I don't like being told what I can and can buy. I have the EOS R and was waiting for the EOS R update. One reason I stayed with Canon is that I love the articulating screen. I don't want to give this up. What other cameras also have fully articulating screens?

Canon Adapters work just fine, I shoot a R5 and the only RF lens I have is the 24-105 f/4 that came with the original R that I traded a high end lens for. I kept all my EF glass and don't have a problem using my Sigma Art lenses and my Canon EF lenses on the R5. I see no need for the RF glass, it is expensive and I don't think that it will make that much of a difference.

You call it a monopoly they call it survival. Opening the camera up to fit OEM lens doesn't sell more bodies nor their lens and likely the reverse. Cameras are highly competitive and you do what you need to to survive.

Not "fully articulating" . Canon tilts, swivels and swings out. See here
