Really enjoyed seeing your neighborhood. Never having visited the UK, my impression of moors was something wild, dark and dank like something Sir Arthur Conan Doyle would write about. Your images reveal exactly the opposite. Wonderful scenery that's a great balance of wild and beautiful with just enough inroads of civilization to make it comfortable and close. Really like #1's wide sweep of heather and #7 & #9 because they show we can live closely with nature and not mess it up. Good job, Good show

And now we know those adders didn't go very far after St Patrick drove them out of Ireland.
Really enjoyed seeing your neighborhood. Never ha... (show quote)

Thank you very much for your always kind and interesting comments Reuss, pleased you enjoyed your visit to the moors. Your first impression of the moors is spot on in the wintertime especially with low cloud, fog and drizzle., the mood changes by the minute. However when they are covered in snow it’s also a beautiful sight to see.

'Scratching An Itch'? Is that what you Brits call the irony of some poor horny creature cogitating about whether to take the bridge or take the footpath? When both are public? Ok........

While scratching it gave him time to think……he decided to run in the opposite direction! Thank you Jim for the reply and humour that always makes me smile.

Thanks for the info. Our family has a friend in Newcastle upon Tyne which is not too far away. We need to go there to visit sooner rather than later! Also I would like to hike at least a section of Hadrian’s wall

Hope you can visit, another great and interesting area with beautiful countryside.

Another wonderful series, Sylvia! I knew that adders were very good at disguising themselves and may lay in wait for several days for prey to come by. But to disguise themselves as a goat?

You are so funny Tom I nearly fell off the chair laughing! The ram was more frightened of me and went on his merry way.
Pleased you enjoyed your visit to the moors and thank you so very much for your generous and humorous comments my friend.

Had a ride out today for lunch and to visit the moors, keeping an eye open for the poisonous Adders on the moors whilst taking shots. A lot of people and dogs have been attacked lately!

Hope you enjoy.

No need to apologise I am often playing catch-up on posts. Thank you so very much merry for your generous comments, always happy to know you enjoyed them. No I didn’t walk as far as the blind thick heather underfoot and Bob shouting out of the car window ‘watch out for the snakes’. No didn’t see any adders while we were there. It was the sky that caught my eye on the dirt track road too.
