On August 3rd I took a photo of a plant with no adult flowers visible. Yesterday I took a photo of the same plant and it had one adult flower growing. Today, just two days later than when I first photographed it there were two adult flowers growing. It almost doesn't seem possible but there it is. Here are the photographs.

Each plant works on its on schedule. We have Day Lilies where the bloom only lasts one day and some that will last for a week or more. The Century plant only produces flowers only once every hundred years. And it only last for a short time. And on and on.

Beautiful and well-planned emergence sequence, Dennis. I love it.

Of course you are correct. But my comment was meant to point out that this plant seems to produce another full flower each day. In fact there are now 4 flowers where yesterday there were three. It isn't the regularity of the flowers opening but the speed at which they open and flower.

Thank you for your comment. I definitely appreciate it and you are correct.
