Since the Monarch was declared an endangered species just a few weeks ago, I was going to post some of my own recent pictures. However, in the process, I learned that the Viceroy butterfly is nearly identical in appearance to the Monarch, and I really could not be sure which species I had captured. Since there are actually more Viceroys than Monarchs out there, odds are my photos were Viceroys. So, yes, pictures of Monarchs are becoming endangered as well.

I never knew about the Viceroy butterflies. That is interesting. Thank you for the information.
