These are a few of my flower shots on black, making the flower the star of the show. During the pandemic I began to shoot stills in a home studio, totally for enjoyment. Although these shots are digital, I retired from any professional work long before digital came about.
I used to love to shoot with Fuji Velvia film and I understand that there is a plug in or stand-alone that mimics Velvia.
If you know what that might be I would certainly appreciate the info.
I cannot physically get around as much as the old days, so I think still Lifes might be the thing to satisfy my photography Jones.
Best to you all,
Bob

First-class, first-rate floral shots 🟢🟡🔵🔴🟠🟣
On Black is an unforgiving background you handle it well. Very nice set
Beautiful work, Bob! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you,
I totally understand. When I shot these, it was with black foam core background. As you realize, foam core is reflective and as a result, with a couple of the shots I had to clone out the highlights on the background. They were minimal but nevertheless very distracting from the image. I have since purchased a good quality velvet background which is totally nonreflective...problem solved.

Are you named after the camera or is the camera named after you?

I like to frame subjects on dark back grounds and agree, it make them stand out.
