Well, it turned out they really do sell snake oil.
Snake oil and other unusual stuffs (to me).

Just like duct tape, this thing is a fix for everything under the sun - so they say...

The material I believe is vinyl, and reflecting the light, not letting it pass through.

There are several stories about the origin of that term, but this one seems to be legit.

I use these two types of snake oil in my gem cutting. They are used to lubricate the lap and diamond during polishing. Lol
