Mr Spock, in my case an operation was completely necessary, it crippled me, I could not walk, my right leg was wrapping around my left leg, the pain was great. The doctor warned me about all the possible outcomes which
included death. Even though I am now disabled, at least I can walk a little and use a wheelchair when I go anywhere, even though there is pain, it isn't nothing compared to what it was before the operation. I can deal with it.

God I’m so sorry to hear that. Makes my situation not quite that important
Good luck to you

I've had neuropathy of both feet for many years now. I attribute it to the injctions I received for back pain. THe onset was insidious over several years and nothing has improved it, even back surgery to relieve the pressure on nerve roots to my lower extremeties. My primary care practitioner and even the neurosurgeon that did the surgery have not provided any suggestions for relief. Essentially, I've been told to live with it.

Sadly that's the ugly truth for all of us

popheizz, Thanks for your response. Seems there a multitude of causes, but not much that makes it go away.

Thanks again

Luen, I too am a believer in the medicinal effects of apple cider vinegar. I'll add a bit of honey also. Good for many ailments.
Thanks so much for your input

DaveD65,
If you read some of the responses, you will try one of the possible remedies. My doc said there's not much medicine can do to help. As you can see there are remedies that can alleviate the symptoms somewhat.

Thanks for your response and good luck

ShelbyDave, I will definitely give that a try. I truly believe in treating with herbs and things other than prescription meds.

Thanks for responding.

Theshoe,
It seems like Gabapentin is a remedy that works for most to an extent. I'm glad you found a combination that works for you.

Thanks for your response

For anyone that cares, my doctor prescribed Cyclobenzaprine 10MGS for my legs, it works great but you wake up in a stuper for 3 to four hours before it wears out, maybe that is just me but I do sleep all night. Maybe next time I will ask the doctor if there is lower doses. And here I thought I was alone with this, I am in a great group of people.

Mine was caused by radiation treatments for rectal cancer, 22 years ago, legs a feet are numb and can get hammering pain in the feet.
The 400mg of Pregabalin I take per day usually keeps the pain under control. The Gabapentin was not working for me even with 800mg per day.

I am happy that you survived you cancer. I am taking 1200mg of Gabapentin per day, I feel no difference until I stop taking them.
