Noticed Black line on every photo

Last Sunday when I was taking photos in a park, i noticed black thick line on top left corner in every single photo. Initially i thought ad a branch, and tried indoors and noticed the same.
I cleaned the sensor using the option in my D800 camera, then using a soft brush i cleaned the mirror.
Still i see it.
I googled and came to know that I need to send to Nikon dealer for repair. No idea how much would they charge.
So I just want to take a second opinion.

You probably also cleaned the lens and lens filter. Looks like a hair on the lens front or back ???

Have you tried other lenses? Might be something in or on the lens.

Using the quick built in sensor cleaning feature only gets some things. I would use the shutter open for cleaning feature in the set up menu and a flashlight to look at the sensor. This things looks much larger than a hair, perhaps a pine needle? If you see something use a rocket blower style brush to try and dislodge it.

The hallmark of stuff up against the sensor is that they are sharper at small apertures and a bit fuzzier at larger openings.

I tried on three different lenses, Sigma 150-500mm, Nikor 28-200mm & 50mm fixed I got the same results on all three.

I used flashlight to look at the sensor, didn't notice anything abnormal. I am not an expert, so I might missed it. Will try to take the picture and attach it tomorrow.

Definitely something on your sensor. Take the lens off and have a look

Use a magnifying glass when looking at the sensor.

I want to thank UHH members for providing some valuable suggestions.

I did choose Mirror Up , when clicked the shutter button, the mirror came up and the i noticed this plastic one on the CMoS. Removed very carefully and now the pictures are coming good.
No idea from where the plastic piece came from and a bit tensed what the new problem might be.

Wow. Interesting. Dont borrow trouble though worrying about the source if all seems like it's working ok now.
