Be prepared to walk a lot, you can see elk from the road and the viewing center but there are much more when walking. Weekends can be crazy and there are lots of hotels in Clearfield.

I visit the area 3-4 times each year. Besides the Elk Country Visitors Center, make sure you hit Winslow Hill, Dents Viewing Area and the Woodring Farm Area.

There are several wildlife cams in elk country in PA. Right now most of these are not livestreaming, but they will start doing so closer to September, the peak rut season. Right now they are all showing archived videos from past seasons.

Another piece of advice, go in the morning (probably before 8) or late afternoon (maybe after 4) when they will be feeding. Also, keep aware, they are wild animals and during rut the bulls may get aggressive if they feel threatened.
