Love it! The right way! Had a neighbor who had the whole place plumbed with plastic tubing right down to the sugar house, topography was his friend. Can't recall the year off hand, likely early to mid '70's. His syrup and sugar were pretty good despite the innovation.

The second image, especially, is top drawer. I looked up Garrett County and learned some interesting things. The National Radio Silent Zone exists in its southern parts, the western half drains into the Mississippi River basin, and the Glades is an excellent example of mountain peat land.

The glades area is where I grew up.
