Does anyone out there still use a Zip Drive? I bought one and used it sporadically years ago. I stopped using it when DVD drives became faster and more practical. If anyone still uses these You can have it for free. If you live in my city, (Columbus, Ohio), you can come and get it. If you live far away just pay the shipping cost which I'll provide once I know where to send it. PM me if interested.

It will be interesting to see if anyone still uses them. I never had a ZIP, but did use a Jaz drives for a few years.

They aged more quickly than I did.

I did use the Zip. Couldn't afford a Jaz drive.

I have one....somewhere. Haven't used it since CD/DVD drives became prevalent.

I used them many years ago, and I think I remember having one built into an old Mac I had. But I wonder if they would be compatible with today's operating systems.

I had one in a Win98 machine. I believe it had a SCSI interface.
Thankfully all of that is long gone.

Same here. I really should throw it out at this point as it is highly unlikely I will ever use it again. USB flash drives are just too convenient.

I had a few Zip drives that I used (in the 90s?). When I moved I found an old reader, stuck the zips into it and tried to read them. Maybe 50% success. Nothing important on them and they seemed unreliable so I tossed them all.

They were like 100 Mbytes. By the end of the 90s hard drives were into the GByte ranges so the Zip drives were no longer useful. A transient peripheral.

Technology is hard to beat. The zip drive was introduced by Iomega in 1994. They reached a capacity of 750 Mb.
Modern flash drives are small and very practical.

Had one, don't know what happened to it, newer computers don't have a serial port so I could not hook it up anyway.

I have two of them, a 100mb drive and the 250 drive with multiple discs (or is it disks?) of each. I dug them out recently getting them ready to take them to the electronic recyclers.

Had one built into one of my windoze machines. Larger capacity than a 3-1/2" floppy. I used it for transferring Auto Cad files from home to work.

My question is will a Win 10 system even recognize the drive? I have several USB hard drives that there are no drivers for, this from the makers website.

I still have my ZIP250 and about 2 dozen Zip Disks. It apparently doesn't work with Windows 10/11
