WTB Arca Plate for D5300

Planning to be using a Nikon D5300 as one of the bodies on a photo trip later this month, and it will likely be on a tripod with an RRS ballhead and lever clamp. Ideally I could acquire an arca-compatible plate designed to keep the camera from twisting. There may be one that fits the entire D5XXX series, and if so, that would be satisfactory as well.

Please PM me if you have one that could use a new home.

Those plates are cheap.

Do an Ebay search. I prefer the L plates as it keeps things centered over the tripod when shooting verticals.

Thanks, but I am looking for one with a lip or stop on it that prevents the camera from twisting on the plate. Usually these are designed specifically for the camera. Since the D5300 is an older model, such plates seem harder to find. I have one on back-order at Adorama, but I’m wondering if my friends at UHH might have one sitting around.

More universal but will work. My wife uses one on her D3400. Works well.

I don't see any L-plates specifically designed for the D5300 from any brand. There are several 'universals' that include the D5300 as compatible at rather modest prices on ebay. It seems you'll need to go generic / universal rather than a custom-designed piece for this model.

Acratech has a D5300 plate. It has an edge lip to prevent rotation. I own their GV2 ballhead and pano head plus plates for all my bodies. Little more expensive but excellent equipment.

Thanks for that info. That's actually the one I have on back-order from Adorama. If it doesn't come, I can do a workaround, so we'll see.

I’ve ordered all my Acratech stuff directly from them. The reason being is you occasionally get a cosmetically minor flawed item at serious discount. My wife bought me the GV2 ballhead.
