It was a nice idea while it lasted. But Canon Tech Support gave a big ho-hum when I informed them of my discovery and my suggestion that they update their people NOT to pontificate about something being impossible when it quite obviously was possible. Ah, but who knows? Perhaps behind the scene he is being whipped with a wet noodle. But seriously, merging selected photos onto an SD devoted to use as input to a slide projector is simply too good an idea, and too simple a process, to dismiss out of hand.

What should they say? It's your camera do what you want to with it. It's a feature they didn't intend to work and can't warranty that it will work for anyone. Besides perhaps a good idea for you but it's a bad idea for most.

Agree. It didn't sound like a particularly good idea to me in the first place, regardless of whether he was able to make it work. Contrary to his latest comment on this subject above, the OP seems to be the one pontificating, not Canon. This is his third or fourth thread on a not particularly important workaround, with a lot of bragging and patting himself on the back. I'm glad he was able to accomplish what he wanted to accomplish, but enough already. I only posted in this thread to let the OP know how silly this whole thing is getting.

Do you think I can get any more mileage (ie pontificating and bragging) out of this subject? I will stay up tonite and try to get some new angles on it.

I'm sure you will. I'm counting on it.

No offense but it is certainly something I would never use and I think most wouldn't.

Graybeard: I'm with you on this one. Great idea for those for whom it's important. For those for whom it is not, that's ok too. Keep us posted.

So you’re now disappointed that the UHH readers and now Canon are not applauding you for starting 4 threads, ignoring valid answers from computer professionals and doing something dumb and ignoring all the advice that YOU asked for? You know, you can actually with enough time and effort, make a car float and move across the water, whereas the simple (and correct) answer is to buy a boat.

For those that are confused by this post. Please look at his previous post from yesterday. Then, you may be even more confused.

Totally correct - just don't forget the oars!

I actually did try putting PP processed JPGs back on to an SD card in a Folder on the card and no dice. Widows ignored my Paste command. The folder only contained the one Raw file I left in it. Though I have many time put processed images on to my SmartPhone or TAB. My Pentax cameras are very different and file flow seems to be in only one direction. Good luck with your quest.

There have been people who have received the Nobel Peace prize simply because they exist, so Graybeard is certainly in the running for whatever he is doing, or not doing. Let's be a little more supportive.
