Larry, thanks for another Free Sunday and thanks GiGiMac for last week's challenge. Both were super.

This is about the right time for folks in winter climates to come down with a cases of "Cabin Fever" often expressed as "I think I'm going stir crazy!" It happens. Folks have been cooped up, weathered in and longing for warmer weather. Those of you in warmer climes might have a different version - maybe you've been laid up for a while or have had company from one end of "winter" to the other and it's beginning to drive you nuts.

This challenge is all about some of the things you do when storms or something else, keeps you inside for a stretch. How do you spend the "darker" months? House guest overload? A recovery from "something"?

I do a variety of things. I'll start off with an exercise routine, if I can't get out to the gym or my walking road, I "HOUSE WALK" for 30 minutes. It's boring, but this is how it goes...

More "Stir Crazy" antics to come - and yours???

I make sure I have my "smart watch" on and set it to "indoor walk" to capture steps, heart rate, distance, time

Then I make sure Spotify is playing some marches or other spirited music on my phone (the sound connects to my hearing aides)

Then I walk circles around the house for 30 minutes to the rhythm of the music. On a good day I can do a mile in the house in about 25 minutes. I listen to 4 songs and then check the time - it seems like forever.

The watch info connects with my Wellness app (formerly known as Weight Watchers) and keeps track of my progress. It has been highly motivating to try and beat my own records.

I’m retired without much to do which is okay. I walk the treadmill. I bought a quality one, the low end of a professional line, I figured it would motivate me to use it.

After not using it for the past seven months I got back on it. I have a tablet that I watch music videos on YouTube. 6 or 7 videos gets me about 25 minutes of walking time and leaves me sweating and breathing hard.

This picture suggests ‘stir crazy’ to me, being imprisoned within your house by the weather: freezing temperatures and the discouraging presence of snow. During the winter I often take pictures of my cat. This photo included is of our late cat, Shakey who looks as if he he were imprisoned behind the staircase bannister posts. also being somewhat imprisoned by the pandemic, I enjoy shopping online. What a delight it is to open the many deliveries which arrive on my doorstep weekly! And always as a last resort as to what to do I can always enjoy sitting at my sewing machine for an hour or so working at completing a quilt. So for today I will have two stir crazy topics; cat pictures and quilting and I also shall be celebrating the last day of February, yea!yea!

A house walk is a grand idea, Pat! I shall do one today,I like a walk with a theme. I used to do a “ten cent “walk. I would put Pennie’s in my pocket every time I had completed a circuit of my planned walk. In my house I can go in a circle, hall, living room, dining room, then the same again, hall, etc.so a house circle it shall be today! Also today I shall work at finishing the quilting of this butterfly quilt which will be given to one of my granddaughters. It’s always handy to have a work in progress to turn to when an activity is needed to fill in those long winter days. Quilting is one of my stir crazy activities.

Beginning with piecing each cardinal block, the making of this quilt has been a long, time consuming process;however it is a fun and challenging time consuming activity!

Another quilting project and this one is complete. Actually it was finished during those late fall days in November while anticipating the actual beginning of winter! This quilt was to celebrate the publishing of a sweet picture storybook written by my daughter!” The little ghost who was a quilt” and ,inspired many quilters to make a little ghost quilt, including me.

Another stir crazy activity for me is the challenge of capturing the birds that come to our feeders. I'm still working on Birds In Flight and yesterday these 2 were the stars. Rarely are they close enough to each other to get both well focused.
