Hello to all,
I am a 82 year old retired Engineer. I have been a lurker here at UHH for a few years.

I moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico nearly 3 yrs ago. I have yet to experience a day without magnificent photo opportunities. My bucket list of places I want to Photograph just within this state is so long I may never get to all of them.
I shoot every day with film as well as digital. I have many fine vintage film cameras of 35mm and 120mm varieties.
I have affixed myself to getting as many fine old cameras that I could never ever afford when they were first introduced.
I do process my own B&W film as well.

Digital cameras? of course...I have been involved with digital cams going back to the very first ones. I squeezed out many super shots out of a 3.2 Mpix point and shoot. I have had several iterations of cameras since, three different Canon Rebels a couple of Nikons too. I do still use a Canon 1D III along with a couple of M variations including M6II mirrorless cameras. I also have two 6Ds, one of which is modified for Astrophotography. I use my Canon 5D4 for landscapes.

All of the various higher end brands of cameras have attributes to be used and admired. I still have my very first Argus C3...LOL.I also have the second cam too, a Exakta VII, both are in pristine condition.
I prefer the results of Medium Format film to Digital. I use several cameras such as my Fuji GW690 III, a Mamiya C330 and of course a Rollie. My favorite might be the Mamiya RB67, it just rocks!
Yes, I do have and use Nikon cameras as well as Canon also Contax, Pentax and Minolta along with several other 35mms.

My father introduced me to Photgraphy when I was 10 years old, he was a industrial Photographer for a Major manufacturer. He had his own personal photo business as well. I was his favorite darkroom film canister agitator.
I learn every day about some aspect of Photography that I hadn't considered before. There is no day that a person has within their lifetime that learning isn't possible.

My Thousands of personal photos might just possibly never be seen by others but, that isn't why I take them. Every good shot is savored and captured within my being, a tribute to all the beauty in this world.
Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder, No Photo will meet the scrutiny of all. It really doesn't matter!
All of the fine shots from others that I have seen are in their own right wonderful and to be appreciated, not picked apart. Focus, Bokeh, Colors or B&W all have a place of consideration along with composition and arrangements of photos. Just using these various awesome camera designs is a pleasure within itself.

Every morning first light is magnificent. Every sunset is to be relished and appreciated along with weather and other surprise, opportunistic Photographic happenstances.
Today is another new one...

Get out there and go for all that you can!,

Wonderful and well said, Bill. As an 85 year old retiree, I can empathize with your experiences. Like yourself, I started out in grammar school in the late 1940s. Still have the original Leica IIIf my father gave me as a grammar school graduation present although now I shoot with Fuji X-T2 nd X-T30 bodies with assorted Fuji XF lenses. They really do rival Leica with much less weight and expense. Love the Fuji film simulations too. Hard to beat post-processing in Lightroom. Also have a Zeiss Super Ikonta BXM (Syncro Compur shutter), 120 roll film folding camera with Zeiss Tessar lens which I occasionally shoot with Kodak Ektar 100.
Keep shooting and sharing your experiences.

Thanks for all the comments! Today, is one of my digital days!
It is rather overcast and windy here at 7500 ft altitude but, post processing if needed makes some shots look livelier.
I've tried an awful lot of software over the years, I am currently using combinations of NEO, Elements 2021 and Gigapixel on a Windows 11 laptop. The lappy has 64gigs of ram and a I9 processor with a 2T, SSD boot drive! It performs as expected.
I only went with all this power to accomodate my Astrophotography processing needs, Some of those file sizes are enormous.
Catch ya Later ๐Ÿ™‚

A simple shot with a 400mm lens reworked a little in post processing.
