I am heading out to Utah in late March. I know about
the National Parks, but I was wondering what are the
things to shoot in Salt Lake City and around Moab.

Yes, Moab, Utah, lies next to Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. Between them, you will find some of the most beautiful and striking natural land forms on Earth.

You can find useful information about what to do in Moab by Googling this city.

For example, I rented a Jeep to travel the back roads of CNP. Trails exist to accommodate high clearance vehicles. I saw only a handful of tourists amid the natural wonders of this excursion.

I strongly suggest you implement your travel plan asap. The rooms in Moab fill up fast, and they are expensive. I stayed in Green River, Utah, for its reasonable room rates.

Check out http://www.vrbo.com - sometimes it is less expensive to rent a condo in Moab than a hotel room, and you would have more room and maybe a hot tub.

Weather and Covid may play into it, but we travel northwest over to the Golden Spike Monument. Promontory Point.

Also slot canyons in the area, and more about 90 min away. If you can get on a photo tour of ones of these it will be worth it. This is just one

Been there once. You will find spectacular views of the erosion from the Colorado River.

In the Salt Lake City area - landscapes include the Cottonwood Canyons with Guardsman Pass into Park City, Antelope Island and views best seen using US 89 toward Moab. For birds, Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge and Farmington Bay Wildfowl Management Area.

You must see Bryce Canyon, consider taking the horse ride trip into the canyon or just walk the famous rim walk.

Reservations I believe & a lot of the popular NP's will need them this year.

How about the salt flats. We were there in 1980. Lots of salt. Very flat.

The corridor from Moab and Zion south to Monument Park will keep your shutter finger as busy as you like. I’m going to Moab for a workshop in March. Since I’m arriving 2 days early, I needed additional hotel nights. Their prices have gone up steadily for the last six months. Book now, if you haven’t already, or tell your credit card to take a deep breath. And lastly, are you driving? If so, and I-70 is on your route, be aware and watchful of weather conditions. March can be wild.
