Bear River water birds in the marsh

Monday I went to Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge. It was 18 degrees F when I started and 22 when I finished. The bad news was that the duck season is still in effect, so there were no migratory birds to be seen, just the regulars. The good news was that recent snows and rains have filled up the ponds.

I go early for good sun angles in landscape shots, but this set shows how the sun helped the backgrounds of these water birds in the marshy reed areas.

Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Thanks, Joe, I went for early landscapes and got some good bird shots too. Better lucky than good (LOL).

Nicely done, Mike. That weather would have kept me inside. But then I'm just an old southerner.
