Amazon reviews edited.

After getting multiple requests to review items I purchased I was banned from leaving reviews. My daughter has since told me that she has received messages that my reviews have been blocked. She received these messages since she is the primary account holder. It seems my reviews are being blocked because I've included pricing information. Most of us know Amazon is not always the cheapest. Pricing is an important part of the review. Fellow hoggers just keep in mind Amazon edits reviews and take them with a grain of salt.

Reviews are supposed to be evaluations of product quality.
Were you posting where to get the items cheaper?

No, general reviews that included a heads up as to their pricing after buying the items. They chased me for the reviews. Pricing is an integral part of the review. Would you be ok with finding out you paid twice the going price on the internet or local store. All I'm posting is Amazon is deleting reviews that are not favorable to them.

Pricing has nothing to do with how well a product performs or meets requirements for operation.
It's a separate subject.
The product will perform, or not, the same way regardless of price paid.

I'm interested in product reviews, not price reviews.

So if you paid twice what it's worth your ok with that. Pricing is very relevant to any review. I respectively disagree.
A significant amount of new camera reviews on this forum mention price.

Haha, not saying I'm okay with that, YOU did!

Once one reviews a product and decides it is something to get,
THEN one looks for a price one is willing to pay for it.

If I decide I don't want that particular product, it doesn't matter who has the cheaper price.

Like I said, price has nothing to do with the way a product performs.
Separate subject, separate process.

In your mind they are connected, in mind they are not.

I'm just bringing information to the table, and that's never bad.

They are trying to make money, so personal feelings about price in a review hosted on their systems is not beneficial to them. But people leaving quality reviews about the product (good or bad) is. If I am not happy with the price on Amazon I will do that research myself.

I have paid more for ordering from B&H than can be found on Amazon, even Best Buy.
If Best buy and B&H are the same price, I will order from B&H.
I trust B&H, others, not so much... (Save Best buy.)
People can call it loyalty or stupidity, their choice.

I do the same with my drum equipment. The store I buy from isn't the cheapest, but the rep that is assigned to me keeps notes on what we talk about and what I purchase, and we have conversations and not a sales pitch.

If I were to leave a review for a bass drum pedal on their site, I will comment on it's durability, feel, etc.... not that I paid more for it there.

Why would any store agree to host reviews telling viewers that other vendors were selling items for less?
Certainly there's no obligation to do so.
Buyers are capable of price shopping. What they need is guidance as to quality of the item.

Same with delivery.
I've seen many reviews poo-poo the delivery of an item, ergo bad review.
That also has nothing to do with how well a product performs.

Many reviews are totally useless, but to some readers it’s quantity versus quality for measurement.
