Anyone got a bright idea?

I have sent the following email to RRS yesterday:

Dear people,

I ordered a camera plate MC-L and BH-40 LR II ball head to fit my Versa Tripod.

My order number was 814-3467394.

I have just received delivery of the Nikon MC-DC2 remote cord and have discovered that the camera plate does not allow the DC2 to be plugged in even when the plate is adjusted to be on the most distant slot.

I need to sort this out quickly. Do you do an alternative camera plate that will allow me to use the DC2? Can I return the MC-L camera plate for a full refund?

I left a telephone message earlier on but as yet no reply.

Regards,

Paul Handover

My experience with getting advice from RRS has been nothing short of excellent —- but that has all been done with telephone calls. Everyone that I have spoken to at RRS has been knowledgeable and helpful.

That was my expectation when I called but all I got was ‘leave a message and we will call you back’, and so far no return call.

They likely don’t have a second or third shift.

BushDog, what telephone number were you calling? I am still getting their voicemail and I am calling 1-385-248-0777. Very frustrating!

Wow! They must have something unusual going on … maybe pandemic related. I hope they come through for you and resolve your issue quickly.

I wanted to shoot some night shots but I will have to find another way of operating my D750 without the DC2. In the scheme of things it is not important.

But I am grateful for your assistance. Thank you!

I know this doesn't help your situation or the original problem, but you may have to find a different brand or model L bracket to accommodate that cable connection. I was going to originally pair a RRS head and bracket, but read some reviews that didn't quite fit what I needed so went with a different company for the bracket and it works amazing with the RRS head.

Tell me more! I love the tripod and ball head but if I could get an L-bracket or holder from somewhere else then I would likely consider it.

Paul,

I don't know if it will fit your specific needs, but I went with the 3 Legged Thing "Ellie" L-bracket. Just be aware that I have a completely different camera setup from yours so you may have to check out video/written reviews to make sure it fits your needs. My Canon cable connection is on the front of the camera, so I can snake the cable through the space between the bracket and camera.
