The 1.5 firmware update is now available for the Canon R6 (and R5 )..I was wondering if anyone has installed it on their cameras, and if there are any issues. When I look online, I see a few people complaining about focusing problems with some, but not all, lenses. They don't specify is it's canon lenses or third party. I called Canon support to check, they say they have no reports of any problems. The update has been available for about a month now. Just wanted to check before I installed it..Thanks for any info.

There might be a problem if using certain Apple products for the installation source, check into that if it seems to apply to your situation.

I will have a camera store install it, and I agree, I heard it doesn’t sync with the newest Mac computer chip.. I’m ok that way.. the complaint was with not locking on focus , with some lenses.. but fine with others.. and only a few complaints.. i just wanted to hear if anyone on this group experienced it as well, before o had cdmrrs store install it.. thx!

I had my local camera store install it and it seems to be working fine. I have not used my one non Canon lens since the update but the Canon lenses work with no issues.

Installed on my R6 with no camera problems. On my iMac, this downloaded zip file acted differently than past updates which threw me for a loop. When you double click it, instead of opening right up where you can see it, it opens in Finder as a mounted drive. Go there, click on it and you are in business. Or wonder for days where it is, LOL like me!

So that's where it is! Nice detective work, mdoing!

I was so confused that I got a friend of mine to download it on a Windows machine and give it to me, was later that I saw it sitting in the Finder! Ooops!

I did the upgrade right after receiving my R6 (Christmas 2021). Used my Mac Book Air with zero problems. The updates loaded fine and the whole process was much easier than I expected (I'm a bit of a tech-idiot). No issues with focusing on EF lenses (Canon, Tamron, Sigma and Samyang).

I recently installed the 1.5 with no focusing issues, but I have been struggling with blurry photos. I am going to post a couple of photos with detailed information hoping to get some feedback.

Make sure they are original unedited JPEGs and that you attach & store the files.
