That was when cars looked like cars. Sad farewell to Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Hudson, et al.
Interesting grill for the Hudson. The Caddy needs wide whitewalls. Another wonderful series.
OMG now you are getting into my memory range. These are cars that friends and family had and I actually getting to ride in. The chopped and channeled Mercury Convertible is wonderful, I love the Frenched headlights. I can't wait until you get into the 50s with cars I may have owned or partially owned.
Man, those were the days. Wouldn't be awesome is cars of today had personality?

Again, another collection of beautiful photos of beautiful older cars. The first time I went over a 100mph was in a '49 Hudson driven by a much older cousin.
More from the "Auto" image master.
Beautiful. In 1949 I was in the first grade. Thanks for the memories.
Beauties from your friend again--thanks for posting these.
A great selection. I'm partial to DeSotos but I do wish I had held on to my 1954 Olds Dynaflo (SP).
Interesting how the grills across the manufacturing gamut have transitioned from vertical in the 30’s to horizontal in the 40’s.
