Monitor Pass in California Fuji GFX 50R

This is Monitor Pass in California, looking southeast to Nevada. The pass is over 8,000 feet in elevation and overlooks the basins of the Carson River and the West Walker river to the east. I just happened to catch the last of the sun's rays hitting the peaks of the Sierra Nevada.

Image taken with my Fuji GFX 50R and Fuji GF 45mm f2.8 lens. This is the only Fuji GF lens I have at the moment, but I've been eyeing the GF 23mm f4. Non-native wide-angle lenses on the Fuji GFX tend to vignette heavily as they cannot cover the sensor completely, so I don't use any of my vintage wide-angles with this camera-- only 50mm and above work with no, to little vignetting. The Fuji GFX series has a (negative) crop factor of .79, so 23mm would equal 18mm focal length in full frame. The lens I have, the 45mm, is equal to 35mm in full frame.

Lovely shot. No snow, so not a recent photo?

Was taken a few months ago right before they closed the pass for wintertime--

Nice image with nice camera. Wow, that is a part of California that I have never been too. If I understand the location the closest I may have gotten is Bishop. And that is still far away. I have lived in LA and SLO Counties CA only. And the furthest from there I have been is Death Valley, Yosemite, and Monterey.

Very well taken. This photo reminds me of many treks into that wilderness earlier in life!

Very nice, I love the sun-kissed mountains in the distance. You do a great job on your photos.
