This occurred during an outdoor wedding. The area within which the wedding was conducted was cordoned off. This individual managed to miss the boundary settings and wandered into the ceremony area.

Bob your excellent photo looks so realistic I keep wanting to tell the guy, Excuse me, you are in the wrong place. Can I help you?

Dennis, thanks for the comment.

I was actually photographing the wedding at the time. This scene was just too much to let pass by. Essentially, that's what he was being told. However, not before he approached a couple of guests with a request for spare change. Though the situation was sad, the occurrence was humorous, at least to me.

OMG!!! Now I know the rest of the story. It is as you say, humorous and sad. I am sure we have all run into people in our lives that make us wonder forever more, who does this.

Have a great day,

Dennis

Bob
Great capture of the moment.
Given the passage of time, the bride and groom may come to appreciate and share this pic, or not . . . .
The man, once getting past his short period of bewilderment and figuring out what was going on, recognized a "business" opportunity.
I do know, that at this stage of my life, that pic does make me . . .
Smile,

There's a longer story than this photo and the brief wedding mention. I appreciate your visit and comment immensely.

Quite honestly, I don't think the bewilderment ever really left him. He just seemed to accept that there were a large number of people, potential targets, that were inaccessible to him. He wandered off without much fanfare.

Don't imagine you get that kind of a shot very often shooting weddings! Good one Bob.

A good shot, Bob. I'm curious, though. The guys on the right seem to be dressed rather casually for a wedding. Was it an informal affair?

Thanks, Voss. It was a casual event for the people attending. The wedding party was quite well dressed. The ceremony was held in a common area adjacent to a pub. The bride was an employee of that pub. Thus, they reserved the outdoor area for the ceremony, and then the subsequent party was held in the pub. Apparently, little planning was done for securing the outdoor area.
