Sold Benro Polaris Equitorial tracking mount - Programmable

New, Benro Polaris Programmable Equitorial tracking mount with astro package, also provides programmable pano shooting and time lapse. Google Benro Polaris for details. I was backer # 1830 on Kickstarter as I found this to be a truly remarkable and innovative device, I still find it to be that, but I was not paying attention to how much it would weigh, 4 pounds 6 ounces. It is built like a tank and the fit and finish is on a par with anything I have seen, period. Since most of my astro involves a back pack, and I have been trying to lighten my load (changed from Nikon D 850 to Z7 ii and some new Z lenses that will hopefully compare to my Sigma Art glass), I find the weight a deal breaker, especially since I do not do time lapse and rarely shoot panos. This product is not yet available in the public market and when it is the projected price is $995. I offer mine here for my kickstarter introductory price of $650, complete with all cables, quick release plate and a user manual that I download and printed. Photo of the head as mounted on my Pro Media Gear tripod (of course, tripod, leveling base and RRS quick release plates not included). I accept Zelle, cashier’s check, personal check with shipping delay for funds to clear. Shipping to be by Fed Ex, shipping costs are negotiable.

Good Morning,

Have you used the unit at all?? I am interested in it. How long does it go without the battery pack?? I want it strictly for astro photography. If you can give your impressions of it /
Thanks You,

Charles Jones

Just received it 2 days ago but realized immediately I did not want to add 4 pounds 6 ounces to my backpack. Load capacity is rated at 7kg and by the build quality I have no doubt about this. The battery pack is built into the unit but you can also use a power brick. I have only charged it to make sure it was functional and it is. I have not downloaded apps or software and the weather here in Seattle is not very conducive to Astro.

Wow! If that does everything it claims to do, it is a heck of a tool... I have a benro tripod, and they are built like the proverbial brick outhouse!
