DxO Mark and the R3

For those over the years that have lived and died on DxO Mark sensor reviews and used them to promote Sony and Nikon this has to really hurt.
Personally I saw the system as a whole and Canon is still a decade, at least, ahead of all others.

The R3 is a sports specific camera. Still would choose the R5 for all around use.

Perhaps for you.
There are those needing low light action freezing shots and the R3 does it.

My friend works for the Rays and Bucs. She is getting this for the low light performance with a 400/2.8 lens. You are right, as this is better for her.

Well, YEAH!

Except when they're behind (as they were for many years with mirrorless).

What DXO said about the R3, "[…] excellent dynamic range at key low, mid and high sensitivities, it has the best low light performance of any full-frame camera in our database. This makes the Canon EOS R3 a very attractive option for Canon EOS-1DX Mark III users transitioning over to Canon’s mirrorless RF system and it’s a solid option for any photographers new to the Canon brand."

I might have said, "This makes the Canon EOS R3 a very attractive option for Canon users who have a whole heck of a lot of money to burn!"

Sony has got them "beat" in that respect, though, since the A1 costs even more....

And Nikon still "lags", since the Z9 costs less than the R3.

Sure, there are a few other differences, too.

But, seriously, all three are amazing cameras! Soon we won't need photographers.... just strap the camera to a drone and send it out to get the shots.

The R3 destroys a1 in low light fast action shooting
PS R5 destroys the a1 in DR
Sony is struggling to stay in 2nd place.
The Z9 will take care of that.

I agree that in low light it is the best. I have had friends that have switched from the R5 to the R3 for low light morning wildlife use. It was made for sports photographers but is great for birders too.

The Canon R7 has better focusing system than the Z9. $1500 camera blows Nikon out of the water.

Absolutely.
Even the R10 is better.
Canon got the AF right with the EOS EF system. Leaving everyone in the dust for about 30 years and now the R series has taken a big leap again.
All honest reviews discuss this.
