At 82, I have a really hard time getting low for flower and Macro photographs. Getting down is usually not the problem, getting back up is.
I have seen commercials for the garden kneeler/seats, and they seem like they would be a great help.
Some are said to handle up to 330 lbs, which should be fine for my 225 lbs, but reading the reviews, more than a few say the plastic support for the kneeling/sitting surface breaks easily, and the side handles that are used for standing back up might be a bit flimsy.
Has anyone used one of these for photography, and what has been your experience? Any recommendations as to brand?
Thanx!

A neighbor gave me a metal one many years ago. He's passed on so I can't ask where he got it, but you may want to do some Google dearching.

Consider a telephoto that has close focus. The canon 100-400 or 100-500 will get you the shot without getting up and down.

Yes. I use one for photography and gardening -- love it. I have this style of collapsible stool/kneeler: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Yardsmith-11-02-in-Plastic-Elephant-Garden-Stool/1000383849

Unfortunately I can't tell you where you could get a serviceable one now. Mine was purchased very many years ago at Goodwill and was already quite old and used then. As such I suspect it will outlast by many decades anything you can buy now for example like the version linked above at Lowes. They don't make 'em like they used to. Maybe there's some garden specialty store that sells a well made one.

I have one I have used for several years. Set one way it a low seat I use for shooting bees and the other way it's a 3" high padded kneeling board with handles on both sides to help get this old body up again

using a telephoto lens won't necessarily give the angle you want.

. I have one and love it. I wouldn’t be able to work in garden or other kneeling without it. Also great to sit on to work. Have no problems using handles.

My husband gave me one for Christmas a couple years ago and I love it! I use it for a lot of things besides gardening, especially photography. I had both knees replaced almost 2 years ago, so kneeling is something I avoid. Still, there are times when I want/need to kneel for brief periods. The cushion on these seats is a little harder than my knees like, so I put one of those bleacher seat cushions on it to make it a little softer.

I have used mine for years for gardening. Search on Amazon for one.

Just another thought is if you have just 1 specific garden raise it up.
My wife damaged a leg accidentally, likes to garden so I built a raised garden about 2 1/2 feet above the ground.

They are available with strong metal handles and wood seats. My sister has one and it is excellent for us older folks.

I do use one for gardening and it is very helpful. My advice would be to make sure you get a good quality strong one. This is not a time to go 'cheap', your safety is important.

If photography were my main goal and I wanted to attract pollinators and enjoy the beauty of flowers with limited mobility, I would consider using flower boxes or hanging baskets installed at a height where I could set up a tripod and sit comfortably on my patio chair and enjoy a cool beverage or coffee along with a book and my laptop sitting on the patio table.
