I use photography to record my artwork and as a basis for paintings and drawings. I am retired from IBM as an IPR, Installation Planning Rep, project manager, Data Center Design, Contract Services, etc. Now doing ART and teaching a bit. Previously with the ASA I was in the Orient 4 years, and I took 4 semesters of Japanese. I took many rolls of 35mm film, processing and printing myself. Did some pen and Ink and watercolor art. Now mostly acrylic on canvas and Pen.and Ink, and a bit of everything else. My old 35mm cameras were Canon, Nikon, Pentax, and others. Now have digital Canon SLR and Nikon compact.
I enjoy the photographs here and may do some paintings similar to some. There are Great Blue Herons near me which I paint, also Prileated woodpeckers. I also do still life and life drawing and painting.
Welcome to the Hog, Leonard, enjoy.
Welcome to our group. I'm looking forward to posts of your artwork.

Welcome. I started a thread on here a while back titled "Let's see your hobby!" I said HOBBY because it's not just for artwork but anything anyone does other than photography. There are some very talented people here who do paintings, carving, quilting, pencil art, woodworking.... My artwork is just self taught and may not be as professional as some but I manage to sell it all. Please feel free to post some of your work in that thread. I started it in case Admin would think art is out of place in a photo forum (although these are PHOTOS of our work and I wanted to see ALL kinds of hobbies and man /woman made items.

Pretty artistic. I would need a photo to do a decent drawing. Welcome to the hog.
Thanks for all the warm welcome notes. And a sincere wish that all had, are having a blessed Thanksgiving. As nearly every President since 1789, has issued a proclaimation to declare this a time to gather with friends and family to note our blessings and give thanks to the Almighty Creator. Not just on this day but at this time.
