That's a common name in Texas for the Double-breasted Cormorant.

They are federally protected, but a ranch owner might obtain a federal nuisance hunting permit if they are "depradating" his fish.

However, I don't think this bird would taste very good on the Thanksgiving table based on its diet.

Nice shot. I think you will get some argument from the SE Gulf states. They will tell you that the Anhinga is the Water Turkey!
