As the saying goes, "Waste Not...Want Not" so while the house fly that I swatted yesterday is still a bit fresh, I staged it for a focus stacking session using my often go-to 5X measuring microscope objective. So....the next time that you see a fly walking around on your meal, you can remember this is what it looks like.

Excellent. I wish I had the patience to do what you do, sippy.

Kpmac, we all have our passions, and your birds in flight are far more difficult than my putzing around in the basement. You never really know what may come your way and the shot has to be taken in a heartbeat where all things must fall into place. I pittle around trying to get the tiny subject in view of the camera where the ever so slightest touch moves magnified times in the view of the camera. Sometimes it's like trying to eat soup with a fork.

Thanks, UTMike. I'd like to find a "pretty" specimen one of these days. Most of mine are either quite ugly or downright scary.

Great shot Sippy. I'm glad you dispatched him quickly. Between House Flies and Mosquitos it's hard to determine which is the most dangerous

Curmudgeon, anyone who has a dog knows exactly what flies do. Then when you see one in your house you wonder if it was one that you had seen walking about in the dog poop feeding and laying its eggs in it. Mosquitos are the most dangerous animal known to man and the leading cause of animal-related deaths worldwide.
