Being in Hawaii, Surely there is someone in your neighborhood who speaks and reads Japanese that can help you navigate the menu to the language settings using the info I gave you in your post of a few days ago. Or drive over to Pro Camera in Pearl City and ask for help. I’m sure someone there can assist.

I had a similar problem when I got my used Canon camera. I learned online the step by step menus to get to languages. Although that was in English, I could see it was something like: 4th tab to the right. Then 6th line down.... and so on. So when I did the same for the menus in Japanese I could see the selection for English coming up. It was a *Whew*! moment.
