I know a lot of people simply use their phones because they're so convenient. As is stated, they fit in pockets quite easily.
The "computational" part starts with the reality that cameras in cell phones don’t have a physical diaphragm, so that feature has to be computed. Then they added a lot of other computational gizmos to the mix.
