Do you still own your first real/serious camera? (Add a pic!)
Do you still use it?

Early on I couldn't afford a big name brand so started off with this Ricoh. No regrets. The Ricoh KR-10M served it's purpose and was a great little camera. I haven't used it for decades but I'm going to give it a run sometime soon.
The KR-10M had quite good specification for the time. The kit lens pictured was also a reasonable performer.

Nope! gave one to a GF, the other back to the friend I bought it from - a Viet Nam Vet who had a greater sentimental attachment to it than I did.

My first "real" camera was this Canon T-70 which I bought while on a remote tour overseas circa 1987. I still have it and actually plan to get some film and go shoot with it very soon. It was the thing that helped me keep my sanity while on a remote tour. My first digital camera was a first generation Canon EOS Rebel (6MB!!). Still have that one too.

Still got it, still works, but I plan to off it.

I’m only considering digital cameras, and ignoring decades of film cameras. That world is gone. My first “good” camera in *this* world is an EOS SLR. It still works like new, only about 10k clicks before I got a Sony. Thaz why I plan to off it.

Yes! Pentax Spotmatic, U.S. version (match-needle)-35mm with standard 50mm lens and additional 135mm lens! Still works, however exposure button loosened and fell off.

There was something satisfying knowing it was possible to see (by meter-needle position in viewfinder) how much relative over-or-under exposure would be available, and adjust for the ev’s desired in specific locations in the scene.

Served me well until Nikon F1, then Canon Pellical (Sp?) and subsequent mostly-Canon gear. (Except for Combat Graphlex, Speed Graphic, Bronica S-2, Nikonos II, some early German folders, and pocket digitals. OH, and several digital microscope cameras).

I think the “Dream” would be a Linhof 4 X 5 view with a digital back and a few lenses. Just for perspective control. DREAM BIG!

I got my first camera when I was eight, I think it was a Kodak Instamatic or a Brownie. In college I got my first SLR, a Minolta MD 11 which was stolen. I replaced that with a Canon AE 1, which went for a swim on a hike. Unfortunately I didn't have any underwater casing with me. It was replaced with a similar model until that one got stolen. At that point I moved on to the Canon A-1, which I still have. Once I decided to go digital, I moved on to the Canon 5D, then 5DIII and now the Sony A7R4, plus the Sony RX 10 III. I till have all of those cameras. The last I currently use. As much as I might get GAS pains with each new release, I'll probably stay with what I have for a while. I'm 64 now.

I still have my third serious camera, a 1971 Nikon FTn. My first was borrowed... a 1965 Canon FX. #2 was a 1969 Nikkormat FTn that I used until the meter became unrepairable (ten years). The Nikon FTn is in a drawer. I haven't used film since 2005. Now I digitize my old negatives, using my Lumix GH4 with a macro lens. Here's a negative from 1975.

My first "real" camera was a Canon AE1 Program. Man I loved that thing. Worked a lot of overtime to buy it, even though I got it from a guy in an alley, who "knew someone, that knew someone", (don't ask)! For me, it was a bargain price for a brand new, boxed and with a warranty camera. But still at the time it was still a lot of money. I had it for a couple of years, and sadly lost it when my home was burgled, but that camera lit the fire that still burns bright all these years later.

My first was a Pentax Spotmatic II with a 50mm f/1.4 Takumar. That and the Vivitar "odd couple" (28mm and 85-205mm zoom) ended up in the hands of a burglar.

My next was a Nikon F with 50mm f/1.4, 55mm micro Nikkor, 28mm and 135mm all purchased for the unbelievable sum of $125 from a guy at the local saloon who heard my Pentax was stolen and thought I might be in the market for another. (I think it was hot).

A week later he had a Pentax 6x7 for $75!!!

I reluctantly passed on the Pentax (idiot) and sold the Nikon stuff to a local camera store for some extra cash (at a nice profit) for a 2 week trip to Berlin for work.

My boss lent me his Yashica 35mm to use in Germany. Later, when I decided I needed another camera I went with Nikon and have had nothing but Nikon since...FG, N2000, N8008, N8008s, N90s, F100 and now D610.
