Reminds me of my Dad's '49 Plymouth. He came back from town with a ding in the rear door. (1960's) Said he felt sorry for whoever hit him - musta near totalled that other car! 😂

My 1999 Eddie Baur Explorer weighs almost 4000#
My 2018 Grand Caravan weighs 4200#
And My G/F's 2005 Ford Focus weighs 2600# and has less than half the room of either one of the above
So what is your reasoning?

My 1937 antique car weights over 6300 pounds. I have no idea what a door would weigh.

Back in the fifties I had a friend who ran liquor from Birmingham to the north Alabama hills. Those hills were Southern Baptist dry. He always drove a 1949 Mercury 2 door sedan. The revenuers knew what he was doing but never could find the liquor. He was taking the inside panel off the doors and those big doors could hold gallons.

I remember the days of the "steel dashboards" which were quite practical for after a crash with no seatbelts the blood could be washed off with a hose.

My Dad’s 1960 Valiant (my first car) had a steel dash. Dad put seat belts in it in ‘63 or ‘64… THAT was a POS car!

The car I learned to drive in, a 1958 Imperial Crown Convertible, had a curb weight of over 5000 lbs.

Back around 1960, I had been driving my father's 1955 Olds. I went to France and shared driving with an Englishman who owned the original English Mini with the steering wheel on the right. At first I was concerned with passing any other vehicles, but i realized that the distance on my left across the passenger seat and door was about the same as Olds!! Of course the distance on my right was at my elbow!! Great tiny car, only 10 feet long and I never hit anything! I believe the whole car weighed less than 1400 pounds.
