On the 25-20 WCF rifle build
I originally built this rifle chambered in 32-20 WCF 30+ years ago on a 1905 H&R single shot action, three years ago I decided to fit another barrel chambered in 25-20 WCF to it. I started on the 25 cal set up in 2017 the life caught up with me. I sold my place in 2019 and then a mad dash to move everything to the new place.
I made the stock from reject fiddleback /tiger stripe maple, The maple was rejected from the shoe company I was working for at the time because the heels they made from the maple could not be matched/paired because of the figuring.
This was a "gov" job done on my lunch hours.
At this point the barrel is in "the white" , I'm waiting on a couple of milling cutters so I can finish the front sight then off to be blued, looking for a dye/stain to finish the new fore end to match the butt stock.
Better photos to come when the project is completed.

Are you a gunsmith or just a gun hobbyist? I've been doing a little work on my guns to lately. I built an AR 300 Blackout. It won't shoot low velocity subsonic ammo because the gas port is too small. I've got to open it up to .105 and then give it another try.

Hobby for me
I haven/t tried the subsonic yet.
What size is the gas port now?

Beautiful Frank, both the rifle and the photos. The 25-20 is an interesting choice did you have any particular reason to pick it?

Very nice work, Frank. I also would be interested in why you picked 25-20.

Thank you jack
My main reason was I had bought an 1894 Marlin in 25 -20 and I already had a 32-20, so I thought it would be nice to have both barrels .
I went to 32-20 back in the 1970s when I discovered it was ballistically comparable to the 30 cal carbine and not near as noisy.
