…watching the Columbus Day parade, here in NYC known as Indigenous People Day and Italian Heritage Day. This family is Italian, possibly, or Italian American. The wife/mother spoke excellent English with just the softest of accents, the others Italian only.

I try to photograph a lot of celebrations, often finding the spectators more interesting than the floats. I found it interesting that the father never seemed to take any interest in the parade.

These were taken in no more than two minutes. It’s obvious that the family, whether from Italy or here, is a modern loving family.

Love the pictures. I think Dad should lose the cell phone. He's there but not there.
