Mine too! And that doesn't even include a lens.

If you had purchased an EOS 1D model in the past, you wouldn't find the price shocking, nor if you'd purchased one of Nikon's similarly priced 'pro' models.

Hello Canon

I don't consider the price out of line, just more than I can afford.

I'd like to have the camera, but I think I can do quite well with the m6 mark ii, and the professional lens that I just ordered and should be here tomorrow. I have seen sample photos, and I think they are remarkable. I would love to have the r3 and would buy it if I had a lot of money, it would be a wonderful camera, albeit, probably more than I need.

I think you are correct, the price is not out of line and there are plenty of people that can afford it.

Some will covet it. I do not. Great gear but I don't need it.

Purchased the Canon EOS R, EOS R6 and EOS R5. These camera's will be the last purchases for the rest of my life. Indeed Canon seems serious about photography producing excellent cameras. Would love to see more lenses for the R series in the near future. If I were younger the R3 would it been perfect to photograph Gymnastics meets and college wrestling matches. Those who could benefit from the R3 should do their best to own it/or not.

What kind of fool buys a $6000 camera when he can spend that on a good fishing adventure? Seriously though, I imagine that the camera is spectacular in every way. If I were in the business of photography, need low light capabilities, sports, etc. I'd go for it. And I'm happy to see innovation in the photog world. In the mean time, there are big fish to be caught.

When I wrote "wow" I was really referring to the capabilities of the camera rather than the price. But I can see how it can refer to both.

With the ISO capabilities I would think you could take great pictures in very low light. Maybe one could night fish and get a great photo of his or her fish.

The best scenario is to have the money and the time to photo and fish. I don't have time to do either. Well, I do to a certain extent. But I am just very impressed with the apparent capabilities of this camera.

I am a little bit surprised, but not too much, that the megapixel count is only 24.1. But it is my experience that the mexapixel count isn't much of the story in determining the value of the picture. Anything over 18 megapixels I think has the ability to take great pictures. On the other hand, with the wonderful capabilities of the camera I do wonder why they didn't also bump the megapixel count up to at least 34. Well. I have no doubt that it is going to be a great camera. I wonder if it will be so popular that it is hard to keep it in stock?

With 2MP less than my Canon EOS RP, and
costing $2000 more than a Canon EOS R5 $3900.
I guess that I will continue to dream about a Canon EOS R5, and . . .
Smile,

Edit: Or a Canon EOS R5 MKII

Your best estimate: For shooting sports, the R3 or 1dx iii

NOT for me....
... Maybe for the Hard Core Pro who "Beats the Heck of His Stuff"
... BUT, I will keep my 45 Mega even if it only does 20 fps... ha ha ha

If you have an open mind, watch this about the pros and cons of the 24mp Canon R3 vs the 50mp Sony A1 (just a
$500 price difference), but a big difference in what you get, and why the differences matter to pros ) :
