I purchased a Sony A7c with a Sony G FE 24-105. Love the lens. Pics are incredible. Took my photographs from a rudimentary level to something better.🤷‍♂️

Now looking for a zoom. I have a Sony G 70-350 E mount that I used on a Sony 6400 and really liked the size and weight. It appears it is not compatible with the new body. I plan on trading on something that will give additional zoom capability with reduced weight.
Had a Sigma 150 - 600 that I used on a Nikon. Liked the quality but not the weight.

Suggestions?

I have a SonyA7c and use both my Sony 100 - 400 and 200 - 600 lens on that body. That body has great tracking for bird and animal shots. Let me know if I can help.

I read about the 100-400. Didn’t look at the 200-600.

Definitely worth considering.

Thanks

An adapter weighs not much and is much less expensive than a new lens or camera. Currently using an adapter on a7m3 (E body) to use an "a" 150-600 Tamron. Total weight is still less than the combined weight of an a77m2 and 150-600 lens.

Thanks I did not think about that. Curious about what might be involved when switching out the lens and downsides?

Not a problem. Holding the camera as normal, just grab the adapter to twist instead of the lens. My adapter stays on the 150-600 all the time as my other lens is an "E" and readily fits directly back on the camera.

Many, my self included, have not been satisfied with the performance of a new e-mount Song body with an adapted a-mount lens. The autofocus tends to be the most severely degraded function. So I'd stick with native e-mount glass.

Thanks

Apparently the 70-350 will work. Not sure how well as it was designed for APS-C.

I’m going to try it.

Sorry to learn of your trouble. So far, I've not had any problems with auto focus or anything else.

I like the Sony 100-400, which I use on an a7Riii body. Sharp and easy to focus.

Thank you. I had seen some of the lens information a while ago if my memory serves me correctly.

I appreciate all the excellent constructive input I have received.

Sigma 100-400 DG DN or Tamron 70-180 RXD

There isn't a third party option out there that can hold a candle to the Sony 100-400mm or the Sony 200-600mm zooms.
Save your nickels...do it right.

The Tamron 150-500 “holds a candle” to the Sony lenses mentioned and at $1400 offers pretty good value for money. Lots of choices. I recommend going to a good camera store and shooting them on your body and comparing. I did that on a recent trip and I couldn’t tell one lens image from the others. Good luck sorting it out
