Heads up!!! A heavy Spacex Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled for liftoff tonight. Should be a really good view. A live broadcast from Spacex will start about 15 minutes prior to launch time @ 8:55 PM. Lets hope this one makes the trip.

This is the 3rd launch in past three weeks. One rocket blew up over ocean, one military missile was successful and this Falcon which has been successful in past launches is the largest rocket as of late.

Did anyone photograph it? Please post. I live in Grover Beach, CA but the sky is usually overcast or foggy so sky observations during the evenings, nights, mornings, are nearly impossible most of the year.

I took pictures - from Pismo Beach. A lot of marine layer and the missile was not visible until it got fairly high - but sky still a bit hazy. This is what i got. Used Nikon D750 & Tamron 150-600.

I was able to capture only a slight trail as I was too far away and had a poor view for trajectory. This was with rocket at 400 miles up at ~10,000 mi per hr. The moon was in direct conflict with angle of trajectory from my location so difficult to see from perpendicular view.

Excellent job Michael! Great location to shoot from. I would love to shoot from Jalama Beach but I was told they clear it out when they launch.
