Manglesphoto Loc: 70 miles south of St.Louis

I retired may of 2017 and bought this container to store my tools and equipment, not having any luck selling my place I had more or less resigned myself I was going to be stuck in Franklin county the rest of my life, I leveled the container and wired it for electricity.
Coming home one day I noticed a realtors sign posted near my place and gave them a call, that same day the agent came out, looked the place over and I signed a contract approx. three days later she had buyers, a very nice young couple, I told them I wanted 1 year to move since I was selling the property as land only, they wanted to build, we made the agreement, enter the F###ing bank they wouldn't go for it so I ended up with 90 days to find a place and move over 30 years of stuff.
I bought my daughter and son in-laws old placed started the move in October 2019 and Mother Nature had bladder control problems for the next month and a half, the hardest part of the move was the 20ft container, my son in-law borrowed a rollback,He arrived with the rollback and his Cat skid steer on a trailer after a couple hours of slipping and sliding around we got the container loaded.
The 75 mile trip took a lot longer than normal do to the fact I missed judged the weight of the load and Cody couldn't drive over 40mph.
The ground at the new place was slicker than snot on a glass doorknob so I had to off load in a different spot where the container has been sitting for better that two years. The ground has finally dried out now, Friday I decided to see if I could jack the container up, I want to level it and swing the front around approx. 10 feet, going to sit it on "I" beams so it will slide easier the sit it on piers. The jacks I bought are 15tons each with an 18" lift but they weigh in at over 100# each, after two+hrs of digging and wrestling the jacks around I had it 4" off the ground using about 6" of the lift cap. of the jacks, By then I was so damned tried I tossed the tools in my trailer and drug my butt to the house. The good news, the jack haven't sunk since then, I slept all day yesterday so sore I had aches in places I didn't know I had. Today is better but just walking out and taking the photos wore me out. Getting Old is not for sissies!!! but is hard as hell to accept, well maybe not considering the alternatives

Only 16" to go

The reason this jack is not in the lift hole is it would be sitting on the conduit that carries the electric to my shop.

Good work, Frank! I understand how you feel. After years of physical activity that seemed natural, old age can really deliver a slap upside the head. But, as you said, it beats the h%&# out of the alternative.

I know the feeling. I'm looking a hernia in the face I mean my groin. Just keep on keeping on.

I know exactly what you mean. Nobody ever told me that getting older would hurt this much

I understand the concept. I am 76, and just decided to add a screened porch to the house. Paid to have the foundation poured, then I built the floor system, framed it and roofed it last week (bundles of shingles are HEAVY). Right this minute I’m drinking a beer after lifting the 3/4 x 10” x 12’ soffit into place by myself. I have about half the Hardiplank siding done (great stuff). This will be the last thing I ever frame. After this, I’m going back to easier hobbies such as photography, ham radio and woodworking. I love to build structures, but getting a little old for this...

What size container, 20' or 40'? I have my 20ft sitting on a flatbed trailer for quick relocation purposes. I might find a piece of land I can set it on someday.

I still have plenty of want to left, but my can do is falling slightly behind at 83 years. It is more I wish I could.

Yep. My mind tells me I'm 35, but my body quickly reminds me I'm 78. Over ruling the body does bring aches in previously unknown places.
