Many who know me here will remember I struggle to make some good black and white photographs. I just had a roll of film developed and here are some of the results. I like these but they are more grainy than I expected. I used my Leica M6TTL with either a 28, 35 or 50mm Leica lens. The film was Ilford XP2 Super at 160 ISO.

Please let me know what you think.

They look good to me. Remember you are shooting 35mm film 24x36mm negatives and not 4x5" negatives. I have shot some similar arched hallways at Cal Tech with a 4x5" camera. There you would expect no grain. Your B & W images are really good.

Thank you very much. I do have two 4X5 field cameras a favorite uncle gave me plus a Century Graflex camera as well. Honestly he was a favorite uncle BEFORE he gave me these things and others. When I sort of get the hang of black and white I want to try those from time to time. The 4X5's are close to new, one I think he never used so it will be interesting to say the least.

Thanks again,

Dennis

Dennis, Quite nice contrast and composition. There is grain but I don't find it objectional. I'm curious as to how you digitized the pictures.

Thank you for the fine comments. You will laugh but I don’t know what digitized means.

I took the pictures with a Leica M6TTL camera. I dropped the roll of film off at a custom photo lab here in Santa Barbara and told the clerk I wanted the photos on a disc. I got the disc and negatives back. I downloaded the photos from the disc into my MacPro library. Somewhere in there is digitizing the pictures.

For B&W's they are really nice Dennis. But you know what I always say about B&W photos.
