An old film photographer who wishes to enter the digital age. Have worked with numerous formats - 8x10 and down. My "main" camera was a Hasselblad but I am looking for something a lot smaller and something that I can carry even on my dog walks. Still, I do wish for something that has the quality of image I am accustom to. Too much to wish for? Oh, I don't really want abunch of lenses, maybe 2 at the most. Have been considering the Leica Q2 but wish it had a longer tense on it. Opinions greatly appreciated.

Oh, am also looking at purchasing a Canon Pro 300 printer. From what I can gather, this is also good for b&w printing. Again, opinions greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Welcome to the Ugly Hedge Hog Forum. I am surprised that you have received no suggestions for a camera. Of course there are so many different makes and models it is like asking for suggestions to buy a car or truck. From a personal viewpoint, I am a Pentax shooter and feel the resultant photos I have are of good quality. I've never owned or even used a Hasselblad so cannot compare. I do hope you find a camera that suits your fancy and provides you the quality you expect. Check out the review sites and see what catches your interest. Best of luck.

Welcome fellow Oregonian . It's been another smoky hot summer for us here in Oregon. I was a former photography instructor a a major University. Since you have used a Hasselblad , you appreciate the quality of the images of Zeiss Lenses. My first recommendations are the Sony RX series. I personally own the RX100. It has a wonderful Zeiss lens. A little larger but longer zoom is the Sony RX10. These are pro quality cameras. Leica of course is also an excellent choice. A fellow photographer is in love with his Leica. We don't have much choice in brick and mortar camera stores here in Oregon. Esentially there is Shutter Bug and Pro Photo Supply. Both are in Portland. As usual, do your homework . I highly recommend renting first. Since Leica isn't cheep and some feel the Sony RX series is pricy too.

Thanks for the Sony RX suggestion. Have been looking at Fujifilm models, too, in particular the AR7IV (think that is the model) and was impressed. However.... the lenses for that are huge and not sure that is what I want to lug around. Then again, not sure about having a single fixed lens. I know, make up your damned mind.

What lenses for the RX do you have/like?
