The image was captured on film (Nikon FM2 80-200 f/4.5 zoom Ilford FP4 ); but after scanning, I decided to use some presets in NIK. So the result is a hybrid of film and digital manipulation.

I get a bit of 3D feeling and that the leaves are protecting the magical space beyond.

Interesting. I don't know if you need so much space on the bottom compositionally.

Check out this page by Mike Moats who specializes in shooting leaves, mind-blowing to me.

I wondered about the space myself. Once I had posted it, I realized that it might be more balanced if there is less space on the bottom. Good observation. Now I'll check out that link you posted. Thank you.

As Linda mentioned, there is a 3-D feeling that adds depth. This is a unique and very pleasing result - the best of both worlds!
