A question about Godox versus Flashpoint customer service and product quality

I've had the Good V860IIN for my D850 now for nearly two years. It's an excellent, though complicated on and off camera flash using their on-camera trigger unit. One of their replacement batteries stopped working, meaning it would not take a charge. I tried to have them send a new one but they said it was out of warranty, which I recall was less than a year. Not sure about that.

Anyway the Chinese rep was polite yet refused to offer a replacement.

The reason I switched to Godox was at the suggestion of B+H phone salesman. My previous flash was a Nikon Speedlight that was seriously injured when it fell off a tripod. Nikon wanted $150 to repair it. End of story.

FWIW I was told by a professional photographer who has used Godox and now uses Flashpoint, that Godox and Flashpoint products are identical in function and quality (not surprising, since both are made by Godox).
Godox customer support is non-existent.
Flashpoint customer service, provided by Adorama, is good and reliable.

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

It seems that Godox also makes units under the Flashpoint (Adorama) brand. My wife wants to get some lights, but heard that Flashpoint customer service was basically not existent. I was wondering if anyone has had experiences with Flashpoint or Godox customer service and how was their customer service experience.?. Also, is there any difference between Godox and Flashpoint product quality? TIA

All my studio lighting is FLASHPOINT and I just purchased a new Flashpoint flash for my camera's - Everything works just fine and Adorama Tech Support was GREAT on the one time I needed an answer on the Flashpoint equipment setup.

As mentioned by others Flashpoint is Adorama's rebranding of Godox. The equipment is exactly the same and interchangeable with Godox (i.e. you can use a Godox trigger with Flashpoint lights and vice versa etc.).

The only real difference is customer service: in my experience Adorama has always taken care of me when I had problems - often replacing items outright for no cost. I have heard horror stories about Godox customer service as they are a Chinese company and I have heard that they are very difficult to get a hold of and to work with - but this is anecdotal.

What I do know is that I am very happy with the customer service I have gotten from Adorama whenever I have a had a problem and as such I have only bought and used Flashpoint.

Hope this helps.

I have not had a problem buying from GoMoLight. Michael Mobray is the owner of the company and is also a Professional Photographer. He gives a 2-year warranty on what he sells that is larger than a speedlight and he also repairs them. Along with the lights, he has a lot of other things: softboxes, LED lighting, and more. He has helped me a number of times when I ran into a few minor problems with just a phone call. 833-466-5444
