Do you print photos with the ET-2750, and if so how would you compare the quality of the photo print to one from an ink-jet photo printer? Thanks in advance.
The quality is a bit iffy imo, but my biggest complaint was getting my PC software to align with the printer software. I was using old PS app to print and a few other oldish programs and simple things, like paper size conflicts with the printer saying stuff like 'your paper doesn't match, continue or change'. This is lame, and I always made sure the papers would match.
There are a bunch of setting that gave me fits trying to get a good picture. ALL my other printers over the last 20-25 years printed just fine with no muss, no fuss. My only complaint with them was the cost of ink, and the tiny, expensive ink cartridge's. I bought this thing because of the cheap ink, and planned on printing a bunch of 8x10 throw-a-ways of my Granddaughter. I don't print many photo's and I wasn't too concerned about how great the quality was, since every printer I've owned printed just fine for me. Museum quality not necessary. I was ready to toss this thing out the window, and probably would have if I printed a lot of photo's. I will say that for a text printer, it's REALLY good, and you could print 1000's of pages on one cartridge pack. It also prints double sided, which is neat. You could also print a ton of photo's with the ink, and I did, mostly either tossed because of the horrible quality, or making test prints on regular paper trying to get the colors right. Never had to do this before. Then there is the ink clogging issue. Never had that issue before either. Nothing like making 5 or six test prints, getting it close enough, then printing on good paper and the red ink clogs.
I would highly recommend this one if you wanted a text printer so you didn't need to waste ink in your photo printer. I would not recommend it for photo printing due to it's rather cryptic interface and difficulty getting it to print decent photo's.
I'm just one guy though, I could have gotten a lemon, but knowing how to print, and familiarity with computers, printers and software has been flowing in my veins since around 1983, so I'm not exactly a newbee.
One additional thought. This is my first Epson printer, but I know Epson knows how to make a good printer, millions use and love them. There is NO excuse for them selling this thing like this. I am HIGHLY suspicious they do this on purpose so photographers don't use this cheap ink machine to print photo's, and the frequent clogs mean deep cleaning and tons of wasted ink. I could be all wet, but that is the feeling I get. It likely will be my first, and last Epson product.
