My bias would be for an apple mac book pro
Reality is most any will work these days. You will need drive storage space for images and video. To make it run will, CPU then memory are important.
I use both apple and windows based products. With Apple, you pay more for everything, but it does tie into their echo system with iPhone etc.
5 years ago, I'd say apple is hands down better, but now I'm seeing my Windows machine being much more stable. Our IT at work has a lot of problems with the 2019 MBP, so if you go Apple, get one of the newer M1 devices. Dell is making solid Windows devices. Microsoft has their dual touch screen tablet surface pros. That is a really nice way to edit.
End of the day, the software you use on them will be basically the same.

I used Dell XPS 15 for many years, running Photoshop, Lightroom etc. with no problems. Travelling with it is easy, as it is low profile and light. My model's display's resolution was 3200 x 1800, pleasure to post-process images. Today's models even higher, 3400 and 3800.

Not sure how "High school football shoots" could affect your choice of a laptop however anything with a decent high res screen with +16GB RAM and a +500GB SSD will do anything you might want it to.
Thanks all ! Appreciate !

Is your camera capable of sending photos to your laptop? Be sure the laptop you choose links for photo transfer while you are shooting the game. You can edit the shots later or during halftime. My suggestion is a Mac.
Looking to use Snapbridge app. Thank you !

D500 to Mac (iPad and iPhone) via snapbridge works for me.

D500 to Mac (iPad and iPhone) via snapbridge works for me. Be sure your camera and Mac are up-to-date and the Nikon Snapbridge is downloaded to your equipment.

I had the same situation, and after much research I settled on the new MacBook Pro M1. So far, I love it. Fast.

I would say if you're not into PCs then the Apple MacBook Pro would be the way to go (even though I'm a Windoz/Linux type of guy).
I use the Dell XPS 15 (2017 vintage - 16 GB, 1TB NVME, Nvidia graphics, beautiful 4k -3800 screen) been very happy with it with one caveat - Dell sucks at writing device drivers - recently after a Dell update I kept getting incessant and random BSODs (blue screens of death) which I could not recover from after many attempts - I almost thought I had a hardware issue but.... I wound up wiping everything out (OS and apps only), and re-installed everything with a fresh Windows 10 2019 version then updated to the latest Windows 2021 updates (no Dell drivers), and everything is smooth now. Gradually adding the apps back slowly to see if there are any issues but so far so good. Dell puts a lot of bloatware in their drivers and do-dad additions of which there are plenty. Also the key to this is to keep your OS/apps separate from your pics/precious data so that if you do have to wipe out and start over it's not a big deal.
BTW I also use in the home office a PowerSpec gaming desktop PC (from Microcenter) which has been super stable and a top performer. Even if you're not a gamer, a "gaming" PC will give you top performance for image and video editing.
