The original image was shot in raw with the 24MP A92 and converted in C1 for Sony.

The first one is 1945x2431, file size 3.5MB and then up res'd in Gigapixel to (2X) to 3890x4862, file size 10.5MB.

I can't tell a difference when viewing on my 4K monitor.

It makes me think that high res sensors like the one in my A7R4 are more of a handicap than an advantage...most of you know what they are so no need to elaborate.

As software in camera and out improves the technical differences between cameras will become more obscured and perhaps even pointless.

I recently became aware of Olympus's Pro Capture in the top end M4/3 camera which seems awesome for action. Google Roger Hance a British photographer shooting small birds in flight with wide angle lenses. He is amazing.

That’s a good point on how some monitors improve the display of a photo. I first noticed the improvement when viewing some of my pictures on my 60” Samsung LCD TV through Amazon Fire TV Stick. That’s a big problem for editing as the photo might appear sharp or saturated when it really isn’t.

Gigapixel does a great job. I used On1 Resize from back when it was named Genuine Fractals, but the results from Gigapixel were significantly better.

I played with GF years back and I agree.

Its a problem for viewing as well...many of us use different devices of varying size and resolutions.
