https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmbrOLNTb34I keep wondering what the life of a one-celled creature must be like. I know they don't have the capacity for real vision or hearing. They are limited to direct contact sensation. They probably have some kind of sense of touch. A very important sense for them is the chemical sense, like a combination of taste and smell. They probably receive molecules from the fluid environment and differentiate them to extract useful information. They may also communicate by excreting chemical messages. They live among smells.

Interesting to watch. There is a lot of action around the cells in question.
